Cider Guild: Fruit Ripeness and Cider Making Equipment

Come join us to talk about cider making equipment and apple ripeness

Cider making demonstration setup

  • Cider making season is on the horizon, what does a cider making setup look like?

  • This is intended to be a basics intro as well as a sharing event to hear what equipment folks like to use and why.

  • Bring your questions, opinions and even your favorite piece of brewing equipment to share.

Apple ripeness

  • What does it mean for an apple to be "ripe"?

  • Ripe for pressing? Ripe for storing? Ripe for eating?

  • We'll be discussing fruit ripeness including a demonstration and discussion of the Apple Starch Index test, also known as the an Iodine test

When: 1:00 - 3:00 PM, June 27th

Location: Wideawake Barn at Brad & Erin’s place

The barn is enclosed, heated and well-lit, but I’m hoping the weather will be nice enough for us to hang out in our small orchard.

RSVP: Please RSVP here to sign up for the event and a follow up email with address and directions.
