Join us for the 2025 Fall Fruit and Nut Festival, this Saturday, October 18 at 11-3!
We invite members to share examples of their home-grown fruit for display and tasting. We prefer fruit that is of a known variety, so that guests at the show may learn about different varieties of different fruits that are grown on Vashon. Any hand-picked fruit (no windfalls) of named variety in good condition without bugs and in a form that can be tasted by members (fresh, dried, sauce or preserves if frozen or water-bath canned) will be accepted and displayed/sampled, labeled with variety name and grower. Please RSVP to register your varieties so that we can have appropriate labels. Fruit will be collected from growers during the week of the event.
Have apples to press? The club’s cider press will be on location and staffed for members who want to bring smaller quantities of hand-picked (again, no windfalls) apples to juice. Pressing will be done on a first come, first served basis.
Have mystery apples that you’d like to have identified? See instructions here and bring the requested apples and info to the show.
Time: 11:00 - 3:00 PM
Location: Vashon Maury Island Land Trust Building, 10014 SW Bank Rd, Vashon, WA 98070
This event is for both members and non-members.
